About Ryan Edward Rock
Ryan Edward Rock is an agriculture industrial general contractor based in Ankeny, Iowa, where he serves as the president of Empire Ag. His journey into business ownership was a natural progression for a hardworking individual dedicated to serving his country and various employers. Growing up in the Midwest, he eventually settled near his childhood home, where he successfully built a thriving business and a loving family. His deep roots in the region have profoundly influenced his professional and personal life.
After accumulating extensive experience in the agricultural industrial industry, Ryan Rock branched out on his own, founding Empire Ag. This company focuses on designing and constructing agricultural and industrial facilities. Recognizing the importance of teamwork, he collaborates with exceptional business partners and a top-notch field crew to build high-quality facilities nationwide. These facilities are essential for processing and storing grain, feed, and flour, which contribute to feeding both America and the world. By minimizing overhead and closely monitoring consumer needs, he ensures that Empire Ag provides an exceptional construction experience, maximizing client satisfaction.
Rock’s career is marked by consistent employment and a strong work ethic. His family’s rental of a 160-acre farm from his grandmother instilled in him an early understanding of farm management and the agricultural community’s needs. His active participation in the local 4-H club, Boy Scouts, competitive sports, and church further reinforced his sense of dedication. At 17, he joined the Army National Guard and planned to attend Iowa State University (ISU) in Ames. The Army National Guard allowed him to serve his country while funding his college education without the burden of student loans.
Ryan Edward Rock maintained his commitment to his studies and responsibilities throughout college. During his junior year at ISU, he worked as a resident assistant in a dorm before being called to active duty with the launch of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Deployed in February 2003, he served in Iraq for 15 months. After returning, he completed his senior year of college while continuing to pursue his interest in construction and hands-on projects. His work as a handyman in Ames led to a connection with Todd & Sargent, a local firm involved in agricultural and industrial construction. This pivotal connection helped shape his future career path, leading to the establishment of Empire Ag.
